Film Strip Fairy Tales - Diafilm Live

The project “Film Strip Fairy Tales” by “Diafilm Live” is an evening of live diafilm screenings narrated by professional actors and musicians.

The project participants recreate the “ritual” atmosphere of diafilm screenings by showing Soviet-era diafilms on the big screen with a new interpretation and “live” acting and music.

  Diafilms unite interesting and often unexpected embodiments of the creative ideas of artists and writers from the Soviet Union. Static images with subtitles on a glowing slide in the semi-darkness of the room – the perfect setting for an enchanting journey through the psychedelic worlds of Soviet art. Anyone who didn’t see diafilms as a child is either too young or has missed out on a lot.
  
  Acting and musical solutions, live music, double meanings, symbols and allusions complement the cinematically captured product of the Soviet era and make the diafilm screening a living audiovisual action, between theater and concert.
